Besides the awesome CarolBrass line up , l ONLY sell top name brand pre-owned used beginner / student and specialty vintage professional trumpets, such as Yamaha, Bach, Conn, Getzen and Olds to name a few. Look at the condition of my used student trumpets and you be the judge vs beat up ugly trumpets on eBay from sellers that can't even play a note. These brands that I carry are tried and true time proven quality built and play wonderfully. I have gone thru each one extensively including cleaning, disinfecting, lubrication and test playing. Sure, some have some tiny dings and/or scratches, but the player will NOT have to suffer with a poorly made cheap instrument that will give them problems or bad intonation. ALL slides, ALL valves work, nothing stuck, loose or leaking. I enforce that you are buying from a long time TRUMPET PLAYER ... not some eBay hack - know nothing yard sale/ estate sale / flea market person. Believe me, buying a used trumpet on eBay from a non-musician can be very problematic. I have been there - done that many many times ...and want to help YOU avoid that. Please, please at all costs avoid the $99.95 and such NEW shiny eBay trumpets that are "Band Approved" / "Conductor Approved" / "Unbranded" / "School Band" / "Teacher approved" / "many colors available" / "Chrome Finish" / "Experts Choice" and come with a set of white gloves! Made in India and China are big red flags. --A V O I D -- I could list all the brands out there, but i don't want to get sued. .... but you get the point. These $100 trumpets will hinder the beginning player with sticky valves, and not in tune, can't hit the high notes every trumpet player wants, early corrosion and finish problems, and their enthusiasm ... the smile on a students face dwindles quickly when they can't play their pretty shiny new horn and want to throw it across the room! AVOID these problems at all costs.
Here is my " import " scenario. Trumpets made in Taiwan are high quality, no compromises, and affordable. Actually, JUPITER trumpets made in Taiwan are a good quality instrument as well ... that I don't mind telling you about... but at this time, I do not carry. Trumpets made in India and China are after cheap, bulk sale, poor quality, just after a profit and no reliable guarantees. I have test marketed quite a few of those and they were non-returnable ( sledge hammer ) metal scrapper horns worth $7.22 cents. Live and learn.... passing this info to you.
